Yes, that's pretty much it! I am definitely all things childcare. I absolutely love it...I'm in love with Creative Care Early Learning Program which is now Creative Care Early Learning Academy, we've opened a center! After over 25 years of servicing families in my home, we have ventured to the next step "A Center."
Although this was not an easy task and the journey and transition have been exhausting at times, it is worth-everything and in my opinion the best decision for me I could have made.
Now there is more to think about, more children, more families, staff, teamwork, activities, lesson plans, outdoor activities, fun Fridays, Show & Share, enrichment activities, field trips to the pumpkin farm and so much more.
I often find myself thinking about why and how the children in my center do and say the things that they do. I want to make sure that the activities we offer meet their developmental needs with learning through play.
During my time at school and home, I'm always thinking of ways to better their days, what will stretch their imaginations and creativity taking them to places, as far as they can imagine....you know those places. What's going to be the next experience the next enrichment-in or outside of the daycare. It's always my goal to prepare littles minds for their next big step.....kindergarten,
I'm thinking about often what will Ethan say tomorrow that we can build an activity from or what are the steps to contacting the garbage company to have our local garbage man and his truck to come visit us because my buddy Lash loves to see them ride by on Wednesdays to pick up our trash cans. Oh yes, and how I can incorporate Alexander's Hispanic heritage into our classroom. My childcare parents, lets not FORGET about these wonderful humans. Have I celebrated them lately, have I sent them a note checking in, have I given them a shout out, to let them know that they ROCK!
For me, when you are continually thinking about ways to make great future leaders, it pushes you to want to be great and that takes some thought!

TIPS & TRICKS* When adding new toys to your childcare environment, be sure to have more than one-such as old cameras (I was reminded of this just this week...lol) old cell phones, wallets and toy hammers to the dramatic play center. This will help lesson the stress of having to mediate between friends who want to explore the same new toy.
